65. Kilometres per hour that is. It’s the maximum speed recorded by my distance tracker last weekend on a cycling trip in the Westerwald in Germany. The reward of soaring down on a couple of kilos aluminium with wheels a few centimetres thick, after paining yourself by slowly crawling uphill feels truly great.
A couple of things that stood out during the weekend: all roads in the Westerwald eventually end up in Puderbach somehow. And secondly: all shops and restaurants in Altenkirchen close at 12.30 on Saturdays! The closed restaurants really become an issue if you’re anxious for lunch after cycling for 2 1/2 hours…

Ik heb de link naar de foto’s er bijgezet.. En half 1 is inderdaad veel te vroeg! Dat dorp is dan ook half zo groot als Goirle, maargoed… x
